I am fortunate enough to be able to live on beautiful Lake Marble Falls near Austin, TX. In September of 2009, I purchased a pergola from Lawn Master L.L.C. through the Home Depot here in Marble Falls. The company representatives were very expedient in coming out to my home and measuring my dock to ensure that the pergola would fit correctly. They even made some slight modifications to the basic pergola plans so that my kayaks could be accommodated. Not long after this, I had a beautifully constructed and well-crafted, pre-stained pergola installed on my dock. We were extremely pleased with the look our pergola gave the lakeside landscaping. Unfortunately, about three weeks after installation, Lake Marble Falls experienced a rather severe flood after an evening of prolonged raining. Our dock and pergola went completely underwater. The lake was raging with the extreme water forces as both dams at each end of the lake were opened. We lost everything that happened to be down there, including the kayaks and lawn furniture. However, our pergola came through the flood completely intact, standing nice and strong. We felt this was a true testament to the construction and craftsmanship of the pergola because MANY of our neighbor’s docks and boathouses were completely destroyed and some vanished. Our dock needed some minor repairs, but the pergola still looks brand new! Thanks Lawn Master for building such a quality product at a truly affordable price.

I’ll try not to take much of your time, but think it important to let you know about two of your employees. Andrew and his partner (I don’t recall the other man’s name) built our pergola yesterday and you could not have sent two better representatives of your company. I always dread having any trade person to the house, because frankly they aren’t as good or as important as they think they are and their arrogance usually gets in the way of their work. Not so with Andrew and his buddy—they came, introduced themselves, shook hands, asked if they could drive to the actual site and went to work. They didn’t break, ask to use the restroom, or get, nor make cell calls. They were polite, outgoing, and protective of our material they were putting together for us, and of our home. In a nut shell, they are good with customers and appear to give honest labor.

We've been in our new house for over a year now and I'm finally making progress on our first upgrade: Patio Expansion! While I liked the
design of the house a lot, the patio was only 15 x 6. We really wanted a nice pergola to go over it and that's exactly what Lawn Master OutdoorLiving delivered.

We had been searching all over for a reputable contractor when we saw a nice pergola at The Home Depot and found out about a company that takes orders from much of Texas (Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio), manufactures all of their various products at a central facility and then delivers/installs on site with dedicated installers.

I first contacted the company via email and was promptly called by a knowledgeable employee. During the conversation, I was asked to email some pictures of the job site and this prompted an all but finalized design right over the phone. I love it when things are that easy!

Lawn Master had no problem pulling permits with Cedar Park and making that happen. Time expectations were set up-front so that wasn't really a problem. There was one hiccup before deployment: My city's building inspection department wasn't happy with the choice of 2x8 double headers for a 13' span. The inspector wanted a third post. Yuck!

I did some googling and found some discussions saying that city's are now treating attached pergolas as decks in case fireman are climbing on them during a fire. This meant the design had to assume 50 pounds per square foot. Wow! Well, Lawn Master worked it out to use 2x10 double headers instead of a third post with no extra charge.

Finally, installation day! A crew of three workers arrived on-time with a trailer full of lumber and knocked the whole project out in 2.5 hours. It was obvious just by watching that they knew exactly what they were doing. The building inspector came by the next day and signed off on the work. All in all, a very nice experience.

So if you live in North, Central or East Texas and you are looking for a Pergola or Pavilion (I saw some real nice ones if my budget would have only allowed), I highly recommend that you check out Lawn Master Outdoor Living.
